Death, What I Death}
There is a theosophical society
in New York; the President W.
Q Judge has been in Europe on a
lecture tour. Last Sunday he de-
livered a lecture in New York.
The following is an interesting
extract from his lecture.
"Christians," said Mr. Judge,
'are the only people who fear
death. They fear it because they
do not believe what they are
taught about the joys of heaven,
or else they dislike heaven and
because they do not know what
death is. The Chinese, the Moham-
medans, the Hindoos, while they
dislike death, yet do not regard it
as an object of terror. There are
three reasons for this fear of
death. This fear and dislike
among Christian is inconsistent
with their professed beliefs. They
claim to believe that by having
faith in Christ at the lust moment
they are going to a heaven of
eternal bliss. Hut what comments
do you hear upon the announce-
ment of a departure? 'Cut off in
his prime,' says one. 'Poor- fel-
low!' commiserates another. 'Just
got his money,' sympathizes a
third. If an eternal blissful
heaven be true, then death should
be a cause for joy instead of sor-
row. The reason the Orientals
have less fear of death is because
they regard it as only a change of
state. A. Hindoo speaks of his
body as 'my body' and his soul as
himself. The Christianity of the
West teaches soul without an in-
telligent understanding of what
soul is, end the fact that death of
the body is regarded as a thing to
be lamented and that the desires
and appetites < f the body are con-
stantly catered to at the neglect
of the spirit is a proof of this lack
of comprehension.
Life in the physical body is __ _
the lowest form of conciousness. Manager J. E. Campbell, of tbo Ve-¡
Mail's constitution is made up of j lee Company, sends bis ice wag-
fteven 'principies.' First, there is j on to nil parts of the city, morning

disease is not its beginning,
visible matter is only the phe-
nomena, the manifestation of the
invisible spirit. The life, the
germ, the origin, is ever hidden.
So death begins in the astral
realms often long before it mani-
fests itself in the body. The in-
ner man dies, or rather begins to
separate months before.

Guthrie, o. t., Aug. 2.1.—A
decision of the attorney general
gives all the indlans in the territo-

lotted the right to vote. There
are 3,500 of them and as over half
of them are blanket Indians who
cannot speak a woid of English
-there will besóme novel scenes at
the polls this fall. And the

strange experiences when they go

Twenty-three years ago I was at-
tacked with Intlainarorv rheumatism,
I was attended by the most eminent
physicians in the hind. I visited the
great Saratoga Springs, N. V.. and
the noted Hot Springs of Arkansas,
and many other watering plucks, and
always consulting with the local phy-
sician for directions; tin ally came to
Florida ten years ago.
About two years ago t luid a severe
attack of rheumatism, was confined to j
my bed for twelve weeks and during
the time T was induced to try P. P- r.
[Prickly Ash, Poke Hoot and Potas-
alum], knowing 'hat each ingredient i
was good for impurities of the blood;
after using two small bottles I was re-,
lloved; at four diltbrent times since t j
have had slight attack and I have i
each time taken two small bottles ofj
P. P. P., and been relieved, and Í con-
aider it the best medicine of Its kind.
