Mr. Henry Greek of Borden who
has been assisting Mr. Chas. Baum
garten in gathering his crop, and
who has become famous as a pitch-
er in this section, will be given a
trial by the Houston league team
today at San Antonio. The Hous-
ton team is fast cotapany but we
hope Greek will make good.
Just received another car of Bug-
gies and I have now 84 Spring
Vehicles on hand in stock by actual
count, set up in my three buildings
that have a floor spaoe of 5900feet.
To properly set up and exhibit
200 spring vehicles a floor space of
15000 square feet is required,
which requires six buildings, each
25 ft. wide and 100 feet long.

Fehr says that he is nearer Hal-
letsyille but had rather trade in
Schulenburg, and it the roads are
in good shape he always comes
to Schulenburg. Good roads are
a help to any town and and it
would pay the merchants to see
that all roads leading to Schulen-
burg are in good shape.
MR. AND MRS. C. H. ROSE ENTERTAIN,
Mr.and Mis.C.H.Rose entertain-
ed Tuesday evening in hon-
or of their guest, Miss Schaefer of
San Antonio and Miss Emma
Rose's birthday. Quite a crowd
assembled in reponse to the many
invitation sent out and was made
to have one of the best time in
their lives. Music, fortune tel-
ling, card and domino playing and
various other games were parti-
cipated in to wield the hours away
but they went all too quickly for
the young people and it was a late
hour when the guests bid their
host and hostess good night. De-
licious punch, ice cream and cake
were served during the evening.
All report having bad a grand
time.
Mrs. Anna B. Jordan delight-
fully entertained with cards
Wednesday evening last in
honor of her guest, Miss Julia
Lenz of Yorktown. Progressive
high-fiye was the game and the
contestants many and after the
smoke of the hotly contested battle
cleared away the results were
found as follows: Mrs. Rudi
Nordhausen won first prize, Miss
Clara Wo Iters, second Jand Misses
Nora Frederich and Julia Lenz
tied for the booby which was won
by Miss Lenz on the cut. Mr. B.
jb. Johnson captured the gentle-
men's prize and Mr. Willie Johnson
the booby. Miss Lenz was pre-
sented with a beautiful honorary
prize. After the games delioious
eream and cake were served. All
expressed themselves as having
had a most delightful time as they
