The play last night was
"Casey's Troubles," and what
funny troubles they were can
be attested by a large audience
that laughed itselfsore over its
eccentric and unctuous humor.
Too much praise cannot^be
given to Miss Kennedy, whose
position is no sinecure. Dur-

the roles of six different char
acters, aud each part was so
clear cut as to almost make
one doubt if one person could

and pluy such vastly different
roles. Her singing aud dancing
is of a supetior order, aud
easily places her iu tlie front

Last night Miss Kenedy open-

city at the Temple before one
of the largest audiences that
has gathered at that popular
place of amusement this sea-
son. Her reception was indeed
a royal one, which showed that
the performances given by the
fair artiste and her excellent
company last year were hearti-
ly appreciated. The play pre-
sented last evening was a four-
uct comedy, entitled "Casey's
Troubles," written expressly
for Miss Kennedy by the emi-
nent comedian, Mr. Kelcy, who
is Miss Lillian's main support.
The play is one which abounds
in sidesplitting situations,
overrunning with fun, and waa
heat lily appreciated by the
lar^.e audience, jndging from
the storms of applauae render-
ed during its presentation.
Miss Kennedy looked more
beautiful than ever laat night,
and had iu no manner lost any
of her former vim. She was
called before the curtains at
the close of each act. Mr.
Kelcy, the man of fun, alao re-
ceived a hearty welcome, and
kept the audience convulaed
