"Down the Black Canon," was
ably rendered at Heard's ope
ra house, by McKinney's best
amateur talent. The young
people labored diligently to
prepare themselves to give the
citizens of McKinney a (treat
and they had the pleasure of
realizing their most sanguine
hopes. The characterisation
was superb, the wild west
scenes were enacted by each of
the amatenrs in a way that
wonldhave done credit to a
Bill Cody and in way that
caused a general clamor of
those present for a repetition
of the drama some time in the
near future, which was done
Monday evening to a fair sized
house considering the meetings
and other attractions in the
city. The proceeds of the en-
tertainments were donated to
the Ladies Cemetery associa-
