take, mild and agreeable, does not
nauseate Ihe stomach, nor produce
griping sensations.

Again the unavoidable hand of
death has visited our community
and taken away a dear daughter
and much loved sister, Nellie
Brooks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
J. M. Brooks.
Nellie was born Oct. 28, 1885;
died Oct. 27, 1896. She was a
member of the C. P. church for
two \ears, adorning the profes-
sion she had made. She always
possed a kind disposition; trying
at all times to make those with
whom she associated happy. She
will be missed very much.
She was laid to rest in Walnut
Grove cemetery amid a number
of weeping relatives and sympa-
thizing friends, Oct. 28.
We all remember well at school
How Nellie used to be,
Her sparkling eyes, her lovely face
From melancholy free.
But slow disease comes once to all
And heads and hearts both droop.
The rich the poo1*, the high the low,
To such a fate must stoop.
Green be the grass where Nellie sleeps.
And flowers in silence bloom,
To shed a fragrance through the air
Around about the tomb;
There let the dust return to dust.
God wills it thus to be
And let us humbly trust in him
And bow to his decree.
Eva and Vetta.
