A good juke has just leaked out
on one of our popular young
wives who decided to scare her
husband, says an exchange. He
was a hard drinker, so she set
about to reform him. To do this
she found a costume of the devil
which had been worn at a mi—

husband came home feeling happy
she quickly donned the costume
and when he opened the door -he
stepped forward and said. "Come

MOTHER!
There is nq
word so full
of meaning
and about which such tender and
holy recollections cluster as that
of " Mother "—she who watched
over our helpless infancy and guid-
ed our first tottering step. Yet
the life of every Expectant Moth-
er is beset with danger and all ef*
fort should be made to avoid it,
so assists nature
in the change tak-
ing place that
the Expectant
Mother is ena-
bled to look for-
ward without
dread, suffering or gloomy fore-
bodings to the hour when she
experiences the joy of Motkertood.
Mother's
Friend

of our grief we can see the shin-
ing light he has left u* to guide
our footsteps to a higher And
better civilization. The cause
which he advocated i- made more
sacred by hi.- tragic taking off and
we should press forward the cause
of reform remembering the woi ds
of Longfellow:

We eati make our hvps subline-;
And departing, leave behind un
Foot-prints on the sando of ttme.

A forlorn and shipwrecked brother.
