adopted?
RECESS.
On motion of Mr. Purl, the House, at
12 o'clock m., took recess to 2 o'clock
p. m. today.
AFTERNOON SESSION.
The House met at 2 o'clock p. m.
and was called to order by the Speaker.
RELATING TO INVESTIGATION OF
CERTAIN STATE DEPARTMENTS.
The House resumed consideration of
pending business, same being resolution
by Mr. King and others, relating to in-
vestigation of certain State departments.
Mr. Williams moved the previous
question on the resolution, and the mo-
tion was not seconded.
Mr. Frnka offered the following
amendment to the resolution:
Amend resolution, Section 7, by
striking out the following: "follow-
ing the adjournment of," and insert in
lieu thereof the following: "immediately
upon the appointment of said committee
by the Speaker during."
Mr. Dale offered the following sub-
stitute for the amendment:
Amend Section 7 of King resolution
by striking out all of Section 7 down to
"the," in line 8, and insert in lieu
thereof the following: "The commit-
tee shall begin to investigate at
once, at the present session of the Legis-
lature, and continue to sit after said
session is adjourned; provided, however,
that all finding of said committee prior
to four days of adjournment shall be
reported back to this House, and said
committee shall report all finding after
said date to the Fortieth Legislature."
Mr. Hall of Harris moved to table the
substitute and the amendment.
