The following House joint resolutions,
introduced today, were laid before the
House, read severally first time, and re-
ferred to the Committee on Constitu-
tional Amendments:
By Mr. Petsch:
H. J. R. No. 22, Proposing an amend-
ment to Article 4 of the Constitution of
the State of Texas, providing that the
salaries or compensation of members of
the Legislature and all State officers
that are now fixed by the Constitution
shall be hereafter fixed by law; and
making an appropriation to pay ex-
penses in adopting same.
By Mr. Tillotson, Mr. Stevenson, Mr.
Beck, Mr. Hall, Mr. Merritt and Mr.
Durham:
H. J. R. No. 23, Proposing an amend-
ment to Article 16 of the Constitution
of the State of Texas, by the addition
of a new section to be numbered Section
64, providing divisions of counties to
lend their credit for the establishment
of warehouses to be operated under
State supervision for storing and mar-
keting farm products; and providing that
it shall be lawful for producers of agri-
cultural products to form co-operative
organizations for the conservation of
agricultural industry and the protec-
tion of the public welfare.
