Mr. Thomas offered the following
committee amendment to the bill:
Committee Amendment No. 1
Amend House Bill No. 317 by
changing the period to a comma at
the end of Subsection (a) of quoted
Section 23a and by adding the fol-
lowing:
"provided such police officer is in
uniform or is in a vehicle which is
clearly marked to identify it as a
police vehicle."
The committee amendment was
adopted without objection.
Mr. Rosson offered the following

Counties; and declaring an emergency.
S. B. No. 573, By Strong: Relating
to the salary of the assistants to the
county superintendent in certain coun-
ties; and declaring an emergency.
S. B. No. 595, By Strong: Relating
to the regulatory authority of the
Parks and Wildlife Commission with
respect to hunting deer in Panola
County; and declaring an emergency.
S. B. No. 235, By Word: To pro-
vide that the board of directors of
water supply or sewer service cor-
porations may hold their annual meet-
ing at any time between January 1
and May 1; and declaring an emer-
gency.
S. B. No. 611, By Schwartz: Relat-
ing to Board of Directors of the Har-
bor Improvement District of Galves-
ton County; and declaring an emer-
gency.
S. B. No. 601, By Patman: Relating
to the compensation and expenses of
the District Attorney of the 25th
Judicial District; and declaring an
emergency.
S. B. No. 606, By Patman: Relating
to the compensation of the official
shorthand reporters for the 135th and
24th Judicial Districts; and declaring
