the farmers In the vicinity who were
watching its maneuvers saw the plane
take a sudden dive and burst . Into
Haines. It hit the ground with n tcr-
rlflc thud and a tremendous explosion
Occurred, throwing mall hags hundreds
of feet in every direction. The pilots
were pinned under the Wreckage and
death was doubtlessly Instantaneous.
