live stock are being viewed by the

grounds are found plenty of amuse-

The Fair. Itself Is quite a credit to
both Preston and Woodvllle, and the
people of this city as shown their
preclatlou and Interest by going In
large numbers Thursday night. The
grounds will Ite lighted with electric-
ity and a general good time awaits all.

Pineda Surrenders.
The Cotton licit s| ecial car hearing
sanitation and health exhibits, which
will arrive in Sherman Friday and
spend the entire day here, should at-
tract general Interest.
The car is one or the two of Its
character operated in the Fulled
States, the Louisiana State Hoard of
Health having equipped a similar car.
Its operation Is made possible by
(Jcorge (fonld. New York millionaire,
who sets aside several thousands of
dollars each jtear for anti-malarial
work, through the Cotton licit. The
expense of the anti-malarial work in
the towns where It Is undertaken. Is
divided U'tween the Cotton Belt and
the towns themselves. The railroad
furnishes expert supervision through
a corps of trained sanitation engi-
neers.
II W. Van llognnhurg. whose head-
quarters are at Tcxnrkana, is in
charge of the health train. During
the past year there was set aside for
Mr. Van llovanherg's use a sjieelal
car on the Cotton licit, and under his
direction, this car was equipped with
exhibits showing the development of
the malarial mosquito and methods
of preventing the breeding of the
mosquito. The car shows particularly
places Which are likely to develope In-
to breeding places for the mosquito
impressing the need of ridding the
premises of such places.
The ear will be well worth visiting,
and il is expected that many Slier-
man people will see the exhibits car-
ried. Sherman has taken a lead In
anti mosquito work, and those inter-
ested in the work should he able to
learn some valuable points from an in-
spection of the exhibits.
As a part of the health program of-
fered by the visit of the car. two reels
of motion pictures dealing with a
subject of health interest are carried.
These will he shown in Sherman at
the Chamlier of Commerce auditorium
Friday evening, without charge.
