While a jury was deliberating ou the
fate of John Ball of Hoxie, Ark., accus-
ed of killing Joe Borach, and John Hol-
comb. a mass meeting of Hoxie citizens
nominated Ball for alderman. The jury
after delUieraflug rtghteen hours yes-
terday acquitted Ball, who claimed that
the single shot which killed both of the

shortage of American Legion trust

Major Davis yesterday paid ap-

owed the Slate, made when the State
took over the Kerrvllle Hospital. He

ers totalling approximately $20,000,
had never been accounted for.
Deputy Sheriff John B. Duprlest ou
receiving the Justice warrant, tele-
phoned the Tarrant County Sheriff to
arrest Dr. Shlrey. Justice Johnson told
him to advlst tbe Sheriff that a $1,000
bond would be accepted.
