This has been an awful spring on all
clubs in all leagues. The weather has
been anything but baseball weather,
and the rain makes doubleheaders ev-
er^ day.
': t s«^e the West Texas league has
adopted a bonus system for the two
clubs that win the first nml second
gpif, which Is a good scheme, and I
would like to see the same system
adopt<m1 in the T-O League.

Several prominent fans have ap-

The editor of this jMti^r asked me
*ly we lost the opening day game,
before that monstrous crowd, and I
told him the reason w$ lost wa* that
we didn't make enokgb rflnfc^so the
other club just naturally had to win!
• The Big League clubs are all "taller-
ing" for pitchers. Well, so are we,
but where are you going to get them?
There ain't no shh animal!
Dick Kerr, who used to twirl for us
in the past, lias quit organized base-
ball. IMek says there arc any number
of pitchers In tbe big league who are
drawing twice the salary he got, that
did not win half the games hie did.
It's funny about these big league mag-
nates. They go out and pay an, nn-
Mard Of pHee for a raw hnsher. who
has never been tried in Big League
company, and generally filters. And
the same fish will tulrn around and let
a tried and trite pitcher like Dick Ken-
slip out of organized baseball for a
few dollars. Well Barn urn silld there
was one born every minute!-

Johnny Evers says tlie Big League
teams need youth on their ball clubs.
Well, if you can get a few with some-
thing under their hats besides hair, the
maimers' troubles will lie over.
