egate. R. c. Dryden was elected sec-
retary of the Quarterly Conference.
The fourth conference will he held at
Gordonvnle in August
Last Friday night was the occasion
of a very enjoyable affair in the way
of a "get-together" meeting at the
Methodist Church here. The ladies
brought pies for the crowd, and after
some select music tig the line of friend-
ship and loyalty by the splendid choir,
readings and impromptu speeches by
Sunday school superintendent. A. K.
Badgett. Dr. T. E. McKinney. Jno.
Crane. Melvln Oglesby, Mrs. H. <\ San-
derson and others, the pies were eaten
and a half Jiour *vf social talk-was in-
dulged In. after which a hymn.' "Blest
Be the Tie," was sing and benedic-
tion, by Mr. Crane, was pronounced.
All expressed themselves as wantlug
other meetings' of 4hls nature to follow
at a not far dTsttnt date.
Gordonvllle being situated on the
D. W. F. G. Highway is the scene of
