IT IS FURTHER ORDERED
BY THE COMMISSIONERS'
COURT OF STARR COUNTY,
TEXAS that THIS ORDER
SHALL BECOME EF-
FECTIVE ON AND WITH THE
1st DAY OF JANUARY, A.D.
1974, and that the present and
heretofore existing election
precincts in this County shall
continue and remain in statu
quo until the said 1st day of
January, A.D. 1974.
AND, IT IS FURTHER
ORDERED BY THIS COURT
that the Clerk of this Court shall
immediately cause a true copy
of this order, except that same
shall be a brief description in
general terms of the changes
made, and said is to be
published in the Rio Grande
Herald, a newspaper of general
circulation published in Starr
County, once each week for
three consecutive weeks. And
the Clerk of this Court, shall,
immediately, deliver to the
Starr County Assessor and
Collector of Taxes and the
Texas Secretary of State a
certified copy of this order of
the Court, as per Article 2.04
of the Election Code.
The above order having been
read, it was regularly moved by
Commissioner Amando Pena,
and seconded by Commissioner
Hector Lozano, that the same
do pass, Thereupon the question
being called for, the following
members of the Court voted
AYE: Commissioners Roque
Guerra, Jr., Amando Pena,
Reynaldo Alaniz, Hector
Lozano and County Judge
Mario E. Ramirez, D.D.
The County Judge that an-
nounced that the said motion
carried, and said order had
been duly adopted.

Rio Grande City, Texas, this the

Several election precincts
were left almost intact. The
has three county com-
missioners. The changes
adopted by the Court are the
following:
Election Precinct No. 1 now
covers all of Fort Ringgold and
the Ringgold Subdivision. The
precinct retains substantially
all of the former precinct no. 1
New Election Precinct No. 1
now extends westerly to San
Antonio Street instead of
Britton Avenue.
Election Precinct No. 2 has
added I^a Sagunada Ranch and
El Brazil. Ringgold Street no
longer divides Election
Precincts No. 1 and 2. Sixth
Street and part of Flores Street
now divide the two precincts in
major changes occurred in Rio
Grande City since the city now

Rio Grande City.
Election Precincts No. 3
gained a few city blocks in the
vicinity of Rio Motors. It
retains substantially its old
boundaries except for the ad-
dition of said blocks plus the
Courthouse and Warehouse
area.
Election Precinct No. 4
retains its old San Isidro area.
Election Precinct No. No 5
added El Rucio Ranch and San
Roman Ranch. It retains all of
the El Sauz area.
Election Precinct No. ?
remains intact. This covers
Salineno and the Falcon
Heights area.
Election Precinct No. 8 ldst
Ixi Sagunada Ranch, El Brazil
and El Javalin Ranch but added
the Clarke's Subdivision of Rio
Grande City -nd what is
commonly known as the Los
Olmos area. Mostly all voters
living east of Flores Street in
Rio Grande City are now in
Election Precinct No. 8.
Election Precinct No. 9
remains the same except that it
lost El Javalin Ranch in Nor-
theast Starr County.
Election Precincts 1, 2 and 4
now comprise Commissioner's
Precinct No. 4. This area is
represented by Reynaldo
"Moreno" Alaniz.
Election Precincts 3 and 5
form Commissioner's Precincts
No. 1. Roque Guerra, Jr.
represents these two precincts.
Election Precincts 6 and 7
comprise Commissioner's
Precinct No. 2. Amando Pena is
their commissioner.
Election Precincts 8 and 9
form Commissioner's Precinct
No. 3. This area is represented
by Hector Lozano of Grulla.
The Commissioners' Court of
Starr County urges its voters to
study these maps carefully and
to direct any questions to the
office of Tax Assessor and
Collector. The maps were
prepared by Eulalio Aguilar
and the orders by Alex W.
Gabert.
