Mr. And Mrs. Efren M. Ramirez
Celebrate Golden
Wedding Anniversary
Mr. & Mrs. Efren M. Ramirez
A Mexican fiesta theme set
the mood for a gala Golden
Wedding Anniversary
celebration honoring Mr. and
Mrs. Efren M. Ramirez. The
celebration, hosted by their
children, Dr. and Mrs. Mario E.
Ramirez, Mr. and Mrs. Raul
Guerrero, and Mr. and Mrs.
Reel Ramirez, was held at the
honored couple's home at Ix>s
Arcos Ranch on Tuesday, July
15.
The honorees, who were
married in Estacion Aldamas,
Mexico in 1925, made a renewal
of their vows at a private family
Mass held at 10 a.m. in Our
Lady of Refuge Church in Roma
with the Rev. S. Varona O.M.I,
officiating.
The Mexican fiesta theme
was seen in the decor of the
rancho's arched breezeways
and split level terraces. Large
hanging baskets were filled
with colorful paper flowers.
Light posts entwined with
greenery decorated the
swimming pool area. The
numerous buffet tables were
covered with zarapes and
centered with wrought iron
"fruteras" holding
arrangements of fresh fruit.
Adding to the gay festive at-
mosphere was music furnished
by a Marimba band from La
Posada in Laredo and a guitar
trio from Brownsville.
Mrs. Ramirez was lovely in a
floor length gown of blue floral
silk chiffon chosen for the oc-
casion. Cynthia Ramirez and
Carmen Guerrero, grand-
daughters of the couple, were
seated in the guest book.
During the evening, the
couple cut the Golden Wedding
cake. Mr. Esteban Garcia paid
tribute to the couple on behalf of
the guests. Serving the cake and
punch were Mesdames Miguel
Hinojosa, Salome Ramirez,
Arturo Ramirez, Olivia
Ramirez, Manuel Ramirez Jr.,
Gonzalo Gomez, and Alvessa
Saenz.
About fifty guests attended,
including relatives and guests
from San Antonio, Laredo,
McAllen, Monterrey, and
Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
