Tractor Short Course To Be Held In Rio

A tractor maintenance
short course for adult far-
mers will be held Oct. 10,11,
12, 13, 1977 under the
sponsorship of the Rio
Grande City High School
Vocational Agriculture
Department, according to
Ruperto Escobar and
Manuel Escobar, teachers of
vocational agriculture, and
A.E. Garcia, Superin-
tendent.
Richard Pivonka, tractor
maintenance specialist with
the Vocational Agriculture
Division of the Texas
Education Agency and the
Department of AgriculturiL
Engineering at Texas A&M
University, will do the in-
structing. He is headquar-
tered at Texas A&M
University.
Pivonka received his B.S.
degree in Mechanized
Agriculture from Texas
A&M University in 1975.
From June, 1975 to April,
1977 he has worked for the
Rio Grande Valley Sugar
Growers, Inc. as a
Mechanical Equipment
Foreman. He was respon-
sible for the maintenance of

The COMMISSIONER'S
COURT OF STARR
COUNTY, TEXAS, will
receive bids for the provision
and installation of Venetian
blinds at the County Court-
house in Rio Grande City,
Texas, until 1:00 o'clock,
p.m., Central Standard
Time, on the 14th day of
November, 1977, at the
County Court, at which time
and place all bids will be
publicly opened and read
aloud.
Furnish conventional
horizontal type, aluminum
slat, polyester tape and cord,
single ladder, eggshell color,
Venetian blinds equal to
LEVOLOR "Blue Line" or
FLEXALUM "Economy
Line" at all clear glass
windows except at cell and
booking areas but including
windows above Court
ceiling. Provide (13) 6'-6" x
5'-0" (25) 5'-6" x 5'-0", (18)
5'-0" x 4'-6", (24) 5'-0" x 2'-
0", and (3) 10'-" x 5'-0" at
stairs. Bidder to verify 'all
sizes and quantities.
Install under supervision
of manufacturer's
authorized representative,
in accordance with
manufacturer's directions.
Locate controls for con-
venient operation, as
directed. Leave blinds clean,
in true alignment, and
operating smoothly, without
binding. Provide and install
bottom anchor.
The Commissioner's Court
reserves the right to reject
any or all bids or to waive
any informalities in the
bidding.

The Commissioner's Court
of Starr County, Texas will
receive bids for the purchase
of a passenger wagon for 12
passengers as described
below:
(1.) Air Conditioner
(2.) Radio AM
(3.) Automatic transmission
(4.) 36 gal. fuel tank
(5.) Power Steering
(6.) Eight "8" cylinder at
least 318 horse power engine
(7.) Tinted glass
(8 ) Five, 8 ply 8 x 16 tires
(9.) Heavy duty springs
front and rear
(10.) Model 1978
Bids will be received at the
Commissioner's Court room
or at the County Auditor's
Office not later than 1.00
p.m. central standard time
on the 14th day of November
1977. Bids will be open at the
regular Commissioner's
Court meeting on the 14th
day of November 1977, at
1:00 p.m. All bids will be
publicly open and read aloud
at the Commissioner's Court
meeting.
The Commissioner's Court
reserves the right to reject
any or all bids or to waive
any informalities in the
bidding.

During the dates the short
course is in progress,
Pivonka will be available to
assist farmers with in-
dividual tractor problems
and to provide "on-the-
farm" instruction, ac-
cording to Ruperto Escobar.
Farmers interested in
attending the short course
should write or call the
Teacher of Vocational
Agriculture, Escobar, or the
Superintendent of Schools,
A.E. Garcia. An entry fee of
$5 will be charged.
