School Class of '85 will be
meeting on Sunday, Sept. 5 to plan
their class reunion.
The meeting will take place on
Sunday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. at the
office of Calixtro Villarreal,
Attorney-at Law. His office is
located at 205 West Main in Rio
Grande City.

The Most Worshipful Grand
Master R.O. "Bob" Schnell of the
Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of
Texas will be in Hope Lodge No.
471, 700 West Main, Rio Grande
City on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 9 a.m.
The M.W.G.M., R.O. "Bob"
Schnell, will be accompanied by
the Right Worshipful Grand
Marshal Joseph W. Rcgian.
The purpose of the visit to Hope
Lodge No. 471 will be to do the
honors in leveling two
cornerstones; the first to be leveled
will be at 10 a.m. at the John and
Olive Hinojosa Elementary School.
Then at 11 a.m., a cornerstone
will be leveled at the Roque Guerra
Jr. Elementary School. The
cciemonies in the leveling of the
cornerstones arc open to the public.

TAD program
La Union Little League President
Ruth Bazan wishes to announce
that the league will again conduct a
training and development TAD
program.
The purpose of the program is to
develop baseball skills and to
provide a transitional program for
Thallers entering the Little League
program.
In order to be eligible to
participate players must (1) reside
within the league boundaries and (2)
meet age requirements (9-12) of the
'94 season.
Registration will be Saturday,
Sept. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon
at El Cenizo Park. The registration
fee will be $5.

Society meeting
Sept. 12
The Starr County Historical
Society will be meeting Sunday,
Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. at the LaBorde
House in Rio Grande City.
Carlos Rugerio from Puebla,
Mexico will be the featured speaker.
He will speak on the subject of
"Mexico's architecture under the
Viceroy." He will utilize maps,
pictures and slides in his
presentation.
Dinner will be served on a Dutch
treat basis after the meeting. All
interested persons are invited and
encouraged to attend the meeting.
