Valley market
Mrs. Baird's Bread has entered the
Rio Grande Valley market for the
first time.
To commemorate the first loaf of
Mrs. Baird's bread in die city of
McAUcn, the Baird family "toasted"
its newest neighbors in a ceremony
that also announced the kickoff of
die special school program.
The ceremony took place on
Monday, Aug. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at
McAllen City Hall. McAllcn
Mayor Othal Brand was presented
with the first leaf of Mrs. Baird's
bread. Brand was accompanicd by
numerous city and county
government officials and invited
guests. A ceremonial "toast" with

Mrs. Baird's bread took place.
During the ceremony, there was a
"toast" to the mayor and a salute to
the city of McAlen.
A very special Mrs. Baird's
program benefitting Rio Grande
Valley schools was announced
during the celebration.
Mrs. Baird's Bakeries are based in
Fort Worth, and Mrs. Baird's bread
has been distributed throughout
most of Texas for many years.
