Mrs. Edmund W. 8. Neff. mother of
E. E. Neff and Mrs. F. C. Searle and
the widow of the late Colonel E. W. a.
Neff died early yesterday morning at
her late home 717 Austin street at the.
age f 64 years. An attack of pneu
monia six week ago left her in such a
weakened condition that the end was
expected for several days prior to her
death.
Mrs. Neff was probably one of the
bast known women in the city. She
had for years carried oh quiet charity
work doing for many case that cam.
to her observation without telling any
one oi ner deeds. She had hundreds
of friends among American and Mexi-
can famlliea' not well supplied with
thin world's goods.
She came to El Paso nineteen years
sgo with her husband and since that
time had made her home constantly
In this city. She came from Cleveland
Ohio.
Mrs. Neff was born in Port Huron.
Mich. where she lived with her pár-
enla until after her marriage to Col.
unci Neff. She waa a member of
Grace Episcopal church In Port Hu
ron and It wa In that church that
she was christened baptised and later
married.
Funeral services will be held at the
late residence at 1 o'clock this after-
noon and will be conducted by Rev.
Henry Baater. The body accom-
panied by Mrs. Searle and her 'hus-
band will be sent to Cleveland where
It will be burled on Tuesday in Spring;
Orove . cemetery in that city. E. E.
Neff will be unable to attend the
Cleveland service on account of hav
ing just recovered from a severe case
of typhoid fever which ha left him
in III health.
The pallbearer at the services thl
afternoon will be J. F. Williams. Tom
C. Lea V. R. sine. J. I. Hewitt Dr.
B. Brady and Olllett.
