cascade of white gladiolas
and roses on a white Bible.

the bride of Coahoma was
Maid of Honor. Mrs. Charles
Simpson, sister of the bride-
groom, of Sweetwater was
Matron of Honor. Brides-
maid was Karon Faschall.
Flower girl was Kristi
McAnally, sister of the
groom and ringbearer was
Kevin Shadle, brother or
the bride.
Patti McAnaUy, sister of
the groom and Kollin
Shadle, brother of the bride
were candlelighters.
Dickie Garrison of Mata-
dor was best man. The
bridegroom's brother-in-law
Charles Simpson of Sweet-
water and John Dane Ghol-
son were groomsmen.
Guest were seated by Bil-
ly McAnally, brother of the
groom and Kirby Shadle,
brother of the bride.
Attendants wore street
length dresses styled like
the brides with an empire
waist of hot pink rayon lin-
en. Matching Dior bows
held their circle viel.s. They
carried long stemmed white
gladiolas.
The candlelighter and
Power girl wore dresses
styled like the attendants
in pale pink.
The reception hosted by
the brides parents was held
in the church annex.
Serving in the house
partv were Dolain Pittcock,
Barbara Howell, Pam Mor-
gan, Brenda Parker and
Lola Yarborough.
After a trip to Houston,
the couple will live in Spur.
The bride plans to attend
Spur High School.
McAnally who is employed
in Spur by Mac's Super
Market, is a graduate of As-
permont High School and at-
tended Tarleton State Col-
lege.
Parents of the bridegroom
hosted the rehearsal dinner
in their home.
Mrs. Wienke
Celebrates
90th Birthday
Mrs. W G. Wienke celebrat-
ed her 90th birthday last Fri-
day when a number of friends
and relatives called at her
home and spent the afternoon
visiting and playing 84, two of
Mrs. Wienke's favorite past
times.
Born Lottie Klump, Aug. 9,
1978, near New Ulm in Aus-
daughter of the late Mr. and
tin County, Texas, she was the
Mrs. William Klump, the old-
est of six children.
She married W. G. Wienke
April 25, 1898. She recalls in
those days wedding day festi-
vities were topped off with a
dance that night, and since
her parent's home wasn't
large enough to accomodate
the crowd, they moved outside
and danced in the yard.
Mr. and Mrs. Wienke moved
to Stonewall County in 1906,
where they f armed the first
few years. Then Mr Weinke
built a cotton gin in Branden-
family moved in to town. In
burg, now Old Glory, and the
1915 they built the large two-
story home in Old Glory where
she still resides. Mr. Wienke
died in 1965.
Mrs. Wienke is still quite
active and declares if it weren't
for the arthritis in her hip and
leg, she could do as much as
her of the Lutheran Church
in Sagerton and a charter
she ever could. She is a mem-
member of the Old Glory Va-
riety Club.
Her five children are Mrs.
J. G. (Roxie) Pope of Hemp-
stead. Mrs. Jack (Elsie) Doty
of Denver, Colo., Mrs. G. F.
(Odine) Spitzer of Old Glory
and Roy and Les Wienke, both
of Lubbock. One daughter,
Linda, died as a small child.
Those who called and visited
with Mrs. Wienke on her birth-
day included Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Wienke and Doug Wienke of
Letz and sons, Jeff and Craig,
Lubbock, Mr. and Mrs. Dean
of Abilene, Mr. and Mrs. G.
F. Spitzer and Weldon, Mr.
and Mrs. Kenny Spitzer and
Chad, Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Spitzer and their grand-
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ben

Mrs. Mattie Norman of
Rule visited Mrs. Warren
Frazier last week. Mrs. Nor-

Showers, the first in several
weeks, fell here Saturday night
and brought most welcome re-
lief from the heat. Rainfall
measured .8 inch here.
Mr. and Mrs. John Letz ac-
companied their son and fami-
ly, the Larry Lctzes of Abi-
lene, on a vacation trip to
Ruidoso, N. Mex., last week.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ghol-
son visited in Colorado
Springs, Colo, recently with
their daughter and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Bob Coats and Debra.
Mrs. Gholson remained a week
longer than her husband and
returned home last Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Letz

ents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Letz.
Mr. and Mrs. Clovis Hender-

stopped by to visit her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Beno Hertten-
berger, last Friday. They were
on their way to Claude to at- r
tend a 50th wedding anni-
versary of Mr. Simmons' aunt
and uncle. Other visitors in
the Herttenberger home over
the weekend included Mrs.
Pauline Fuqua of Stamford,
also the Jerry Herttenbergers
and the Don Herttenbergers.
Mrs. Morris Garner entered
the Haskell Hospital for a
check-up last Saturday.

N. Mex. is here visiting her

Massey Reunion
Held at Canton
The annual Massey Fam-
ily Reunion was held Aug-
ust 3 and 4 in Canton, Texas
in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
T. R. Westmoreland.
