years has grown ami prospered, even
beyond the most sanguine expectation
of it* most y.calou* meuibers. Hut a
short time *hnf«, like our Savior, it
scarcely had place to • * lay its head,"
but the noble pastor, with the a*-ist-
ance of the few member*of his church,
determined t Ii at the good of the church
imperatively demanded a church build-
ing, and straightway the good work be-
gan, soon with the help of other meui-
bers and friends, a suitable fund was
raised with which to purchase a hand-
some lot upon which to erect the build-
ing. Hut the good wot k did not stop
here. The subscriptions continued, and
iu time a plan of the building was prc-

gregation in the city have a more hand-
