Populist party of itastrop county,
met at the Court House in llastrop,
Monday, pursuant to call of chairman
Floyd. A number of the "faithful"
on the "outside," from force of habit,
were also present. Attending tlic^c
meetings for the past twelve or flif-
teen years, and fully imbued with
the idea of "saving tin country at
all hazards," they couldn't keep
away. The meeting was culled to or-
der by chairman, after which, on mo-
lion, a committee of live, consisting
of W. ('. Rutherford, ' • W. Wood,
U P. Simmons, W. I,. Martin, < .
IL Miller and ('. W . Hemphill were
appointed to draft and present reso-
lutions, etc. M. T. Davis, s. W.
Floyd and < •. W . Drinkard spoke
while the committee were out. Flic
report of the committee, unanimous-
ly adopted, "opposes most heartily
fusion with anv and all parties, un-
der any circumstances," ami "pledge
support to the principles enunciated
iu tlie Omaha platform." Flic reso-
lutions also recommeiul county iiom
illations, and the calling of a county
convention for that purpose, with a
basis of representation of one vote
for every ten votes cast for .Nugent
at the last general election. Candi-

faces, with the exception of the " Mis-
