Hih day of November, A- D. lsi>7. In the
Commissioners' Court of Bastrop county,
Texas, praying for au election to be
held for the purpose of enabling the
freeholders to determine whether hogs,
sheep and goats shall be permitted lo
tun a! large iu the subdivision hereafter
mentioned, said petitioli being s'gncd
by a majority of the freeholders therein,
and, whereas, at a regular term of said
Commissioners' Court, after the tiling
of said petition, an order was passed by
the Court directing that said election he
held fot the purpose above mentioned,
throughout the subdivision, as follows:
Beginning at the north-west corner of
the P. B. Isles league, thence due west
to the north-east corner of the Benjamin
Bowles league, thence with the west
Hue of the said Bowles league to the
Colorado river; thence np the river to
tlie corporation line, thence with the
corporation line east to the south-west
corner of tlie D. M. Wiseman league,
thence north wilh the salt! Wiseman
league to the Jacob Large league,
theuoe east with tho Jacob l.'.rgc lea-
gue to Alum Creek, thence down Alum
Creek to tho crossing of the Serblu and
Bastrop road, thence east w ith said road
to Gravelly Creek, thence down Gravel,
ly Creek to the place of beginning.
Therefore, I, J. B, Price, county
judge of Bastrop county, Texas, do
hereby give notice that said election
will be held as directed by the said
Commissioners' Court, at the residence
of J. S. Cottle, iu the subdivision above
described, In the aforesaid State and
County, on Wednesday, the 22d day of
December, A, D. IH'.lJ, to determine
whether hogs, sheep and goats shall be
permitted to run at large iu tlie above
described subdivision; and I hereby ap-
point J. S. Cottle presiding olllcer of
said election. No person shall vote at
said election unless he be a freeholder,
and is a qualified voter under the Con-
stitution ami Laws of this County and
Stale. All voters not desiring tho ani-
mals designated Iri the order to run at
large iu the above described subdivision,
shall write or cause to be written, or
print or cause to be printed, ou their
ballot. "For the Stock Law;" anil those
who favor such animals running at large
shall write or cause to be written, or print
or cause to tie printed, on their ballot,
"Against the Stock Law." Due return
of the election herein ordered shall be
made to me on or before the tenth day
after holding the same.
