existence the lodge paid in assess-
ments to the Benefit fund, 8115,HOli •

that, every man and woman in the
county should be enrolled as mem-
bers.

—Uev. George Van Pelt, the new
pastor of the Christian Church at
this place, preached his first sermons,
under pastoral charge, Sunday,
morning and night. The congrega-
tions, on both occasions, was very
large, at night every seat in the
Church filled with eager and inter-
ested listeners. All of our people
who have met Rev. Van Pelt, speak
good words of him, both as an able
and interesting minister, and a pleas-
ant, agreeable christian gentleman.
—County Attorney C. C. High-
smith returned from Fisher county,
