caught it on top of Gin house.
It is a very pretty bird. Green
and yellow, with red tips.
Some wonderful tales have
been told as to what the bird
can say, but whether it is from
their imagination, or from nat-
ural love of lying, I don't know
which, as it has never said a
word since they caught it; they
tormented it so bad before they
caught it, and since that, even
if it could talk, they would ruin
it.

Heartburn Comes
From the Stomach
The heart is an ors;an that people are
not inclined to trifle with, but a person
nay have fluttering of the heart, heart-
burn and similar troubles and yet have
a perfectly sound heart. Nine times
out of ten the disorder comes from the
stomach through dyspepsia, constipa-
tion or some other digestive ailment.
So instead of takir.g "heart cures"

SUBSCRIBER MUST PAY
BE DISCONTINUED.
OR
The Lockhart Register speaks
plain and to the point, in the fol-
lowing? notice to subscribers:
"There is a new law requiring
publishers to discontinue all sub-
scribers who are a year behind,
or pay a cent for four ounces, for
those in arrears for more than
one year.
Of course the editor is not going
to pay the subscription price in
postage to send delinquents his
paper.
We did not make this law, and
think it a hard and an unjust one.
One month will be allowed all our
subscribers in which to pay up or
quit.
If at any time you do not settle
up, your name will he dropped
/rom our list, not of our choosing,
but to comply with the cold letter
of the law. We want you to pay
up and continue, you need the pa-
per and we want your patronage.
So, if you want the Register, hus-
tle around, get up the cash and
send in or come to see us."
