RED ROCK LETTER.
Editor Advertiser:
Having read an interesting
letter from our genial corres-
pondent "Occasional" and noting
the general conditions of that com
munity makes me real anxious
to write. Now if they enjoy
hearing from we Red Ruck peo-
ple as we do them, and they will,
we will be better correspondents.
The health in and around here
exceedingly good. Now and
e chance to hear of some
m of sickness. We are
ffiful.
I am delighted with the pros-
Sects for a crop. The corn is
etter than has been for several
years, considering age and winds.
Cotton is fine. Our practical and
genial farmer. John Carroll,
farming near this place had on
display the 1st of the week some
of his cotton planted at different
times. The oldest, will, in a few
davs put on squares. 1 have
never seen more prolific cotton
t ^.an this, and how proud we
are of our good farmers and fine
country.
Friday night marked the close
of our school, being taught by
fMis3 Natalia Hoffman. We can't
•'exoress in words our real appre-
ciation of Miss Hoffman. She
has done many things for
school, and the children being
devoted to her naturally made
everything in peace and harmony.
The beautifully arranged play)
"The Little Fairies," was indeed
a feast to the eye. Had I time!
and space would so much like to;
comment on each and e/ery on'1
in the play, but a.s 1 have not

for ft seems to me his interest is
not altogether in the home, but!
abroad among every one of his
friends.
Uro. Noah Cowan is holding a
meeting at the Church of Chrst.1
Very large crowds in attendance
and we trust much interest will
be taken.
Mrs. W. T. Garwood and cnil*
dren and Baxter Turner from
Hilisboro is with home folks
again.
Carl Turner and wife from
Smithviile are spending the week
with relatives.

YOU HAVE ALL SUMMER TO WEAR ONE OF THESE HATS
o
We call attention this week to
our advertising columns. It will
pay you to ive them careful
perusal. This much muat be
admitted in favor of the adver-
tiser. He wants your business,
he comes into the open to bid for
it, he puts his prices down in
black and white where you can
see what they are, he jfives you
his name and number and you
will find him at the door ready
to welcome you. The generous
advertiser is invaribly the gen-
erous fellow. He bubbles over
with enthusiasm and when you
meet him you feel like you had
come in contact with an invig-
orating breeze right from the
sea. The advertiser must be
given credit for being a pusher
and this is further attested by
the fact that among the fellows
who, in ''life's race," got there,
he numbers nineteen to one,
compared to the fellows who
meet laud seekers' trains who
cop out here and there a pros-
pective buyer whom the adver-
tiser has brought into the coun-
try, or who sends small boys to
stand before the doors of the
advertiser to turn the crowds
into his own doors. The adver-
tiser is indeed the Siamese twin
to the fellow who followed the
biblical instruction and is not
afraid to cast a little bread upon
the waters.
