these meetings, and participate
in a great work of soul reviving,

May 4, 1914.
Be it rememleered that on the 4th day
of May, 1914, the City Council of the
City of Bastrop met In regular session
at the Mayor's otQo*). Present: Mayor
Jenkins, presiding; B. C. Clark, C'ity
Marshal; T. P. Haynie, City Secre-
tary; and Aldermen Ml ley, Jones,
GriesenUwk, Schafer and Turner.
A quorum being present the Mayor
called tlie Council to order and de-
clared it o|x n and ready to proceed
witli the regular order of business.
The minutes of the last regular meet-
ing read by the Secretary and approv
ed by the council.

'Mayor Jenkins reported no cases
before him since last re]>ort.
Marshal Clark reported no receipts
collected in April.
The Secretary submitted his report
showing the following receipts i n

Brooks be, and he is hereby appolnt-
ed, a policeman of the City of Bas-
trop, which office he *hall hold at the
pleasure of the City Council and shall
receive no compensation for his ser-
vice from the oily, but shall be en-
titled to tike fees of his office and
whose spec'al duty shall be
the enforcement of the ordinance com-
monly known as Ute Cow Law, and his
bond fixed at 1500.

Ernst Goerlitz are plaintiffs, and
Elizabeth Castleberry and the un-
known heirs of Elizabeth Castleberry;
Richard Castleberry and the unknown
heirs of Hichard Castlel>erry; Mary
Alsup and the unknown heirs of Mary
Alsup, are defendents.
The cause of action being j llcK«d as
follows:
Plaintiffs allege that heretofore to-
wit, on or about the first day of
January, A. I). 1913, they were law-
fully seized and jtossessed of the fol-
lowing descriln-d tra t of land, to-wit:

ham 1280 acre survey, described In
metes and bounds as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the S. W. corner of
the Ii. H. Grimes survey; thence East
with the South Uiundary line of the
said It. II. Grimes 2(598 varus to the
N. W. corner of Labor No. 19: thence
South with the West boundary line of
said Labor No. 19, 1150 varas to the
N. E. corner thereof; thence Hast Jtf't
varas to the Maekev N. W. corner;
thence South 191 1-8 varas to a stake
for the S. E. corner of this sur-
vey and the N. E. corner of the South

half of this survey; thence with divi-
sion line between t^o North and South
halves of this, the James Cunningham
survey, 2928 varas to the Jesse Hold-
erman East boundary line: thence
North 1413 varas with said Holder-
man East boundary line to the place
of beginning, containing 840 acres,
more or less. It being the same land
conveyed by John T. Cottle and wife
N. C. Cottle, to John'Bohot by den
(tearing date on the "'3rd day of (Vto-
l>er, A. D. 19<>3, and of record in Book
Vol. 39, Page 32" of the Deed Record
of Bastrop County, Texas, which dee*,
and the record thereof are here re
(erred to and made a part hen* if for
further description of said premises,
claiming the same in fee simple.
Plaintiffs allege that they and their
grantors and those under wltom they
claim title to said premises have had
and held peaceable and adverse pos-
session of the same, cultivating, using
and enjoying the same for more than
ten years next preceding the tiling of
tills petition.
And they further allege that they
and those whose estates they claim
have held possession of said land un-
der deeds duly registered, cultivating,
using and enjoying the * me and pay-
ing taxes thereon for more than five
years next preceding the tiling of thi
suit. That on or about the first day
of January, A. D. 1913, the said de-
fendants unlawfully entered upon *aid
premises and ejected plaintiffs there-
from and unlawfully witholds from
them the possession thereof to their
damage in the sum of Ten Thousand
Dollars.
You are further commanded to serve
this citation by publishing the same
once in each week for eight successive
weeks previous to the return day here-
of in a newspaper published in your
county; but if no newspaper is pub-
lished in said county, then in the
nearest county where a newspaper is
published.
HEREIN FAIL NOT, but have you
before said Court on ihe said Hist day
of the next term thereof, tills writ with
your return thereon, showing how you
iiave executed Ihe same.
