Little Miss Alli«
Austin, was the flower prirl, wearing
white organdy and tulle, and carrying
a basket i>f white rosea.
James Dixon, of ClarkBville, acted
as best man, and Robert Kunkel,
brother of the groom, and C. B.
Maynard acted as ushers and grooms-
men. All including the groom, wore

train for Houston, on our way to
Caplen, on the coast.
A few sleepy passengers were
abroad, who roused from their slum-
ber as the day dawned. We were re-
paid for our early rising by a beauti-1
tul sunrise, the rosiate sky, the clear
umber edges of the fleeing clouds
that sailed like ships through the sky,
gave a wonderful charm and l>eauty
to the new day. We rushed past
the little towns, for this was the
fast train that took us <iuickly to th"
city. Itiere W. K. Orgain met us in
a fine Cadillac and we had a de-
lightful drive over splendid roads
through the pines across the country
to Beaumont. Fine bridges spanned
the rivers, and we wished we cocld
linger near the San Jacinto battle-
field, but crossed the historic river
as we were wondering about the long
ago, when Houston and Santa Anna
had that memorable battle on the
banks of this stream. We had a good
dinner and a few hours of rest in
Heaumont, and at I P. M. started f« r
('aplen, s miles distant. Passing
•ipindle Top with its hundreds of ow
wells, on through Port Arthur with
Ms great refineries, and Sabine Pass
with its l ick Howling monument,
we soon reached the fine drive along
th beach. Many cars were parked
near the coast and fishing parties
were numerous.
About fit.'IO we drove up to the
Orgain cottage, where a hearty wel-
come awaited us. There are a num-
ber of congenial friends here; the
bathing is fine; the wide expanse of
water; with the white capped waves
rushing over each other, make a pic-
ture of which we never tire. We
are very happy with our dear friends
here, and after a few days of this'
delight! ul outing, we shall go back I
to our quiet little town on the banks,
of the Colorado, and take up our |
