The Katy*s
Service Record
Pioneer railroad in its territory, and the only system
serving all the more important centers in Oklahoma
and Texas from both Kansas City and St. Louis, the
Katy is noted for its uniform policy of service improve-
ment, with constant expansion jf its capacity to serve
the growing Southwest.
Katy service, both freight and passenger, is prompt,
convenient and remarkably dependable, in the year
1928, with passenger scrvice entailing many thousands
of train miles daily, 95.9% of all Katy passenger trains
equalled scheduled running time. Freight service
equally dependable; 96.V, of all Katy scheduled mer-
chandise cars during the year arrived at destination;,
on time, Kxcept when interfered with by conditions
not to be anticipated by human foresight, and beyond
human control, Katy service is uniformly dependable.
I he Katy's prompt and dependable movement of traffic,
with equipment supply adequate to meet all current re-
quirements, and steady improvement in service stand-
ard in face of < :!lv steady increase in volume of traf-
fic to be hand!-d. has been possible only through con-
tinued expenditure of new capital for railroad i nprove

Since the end «d Government control of railroads, the
Katy has expended for improvement purposes nearly
