For Texas and the Southwest
(Include* Ark., l.a., Okla., N. Mex. >
Week of une 4 to 10, l'J.'U, in
Texas and 'he southwest begins with
scattering rains which become some-
what heavier and more general thru-
out the legion. Nearly an inch of
rain is normally to be expected in
most paitsHof Texas during j^ny
week around the first part of June
and this week should total fully that
amount, but since it seems these rains
are likely to be short and showery,
a few section- in southwest may lie
rather too dry. At first quite warm
then changes to much cooler, but fin-
ally temperatures rise somewhat at
end of week.
In June the regular or normal rainy
season is expected to begin in this
l". S. cleai country. This week's forecast seems
to indicate this period should now
begin with the series of short show-
ers coining on about mid week. As
a rule temperatures turn to somewhat
■ lower levels, a more or less mild ptorni
! low passes through and the tains
[take on the form of showers falling
from strings, banks °r spots of
1 clouds. Generally the distribution of
moisture among the various sections is
quite uneven. About east great lake?
and the eastern cotton belt hot wea-
ther and few showers are expected
but in northwest, central, mid west
and southwestern states heavier and
more frequently rains.
