Texas Farm Bureau
Shows Membership
increase For 13th Year
Waco.—The Texas Farm Bu-
reau has shown an increase in
members for the 13th consecu-
tive year, TFB Organization
Director Wayne Little announc-
ed this week.
Tabulations just completed
place the membership figure at
an all-time high of 95,229. This
represents a gain of 2.677 mem-
bers over last year, Littte said.
"According to our best esti-
mates,"Little said, "this makes
the Texas Farm Bureau about
24 times as large as the next
largest general form organiza-
tion in the state. The fact that
the organization continues to
grow in a period of declining
farm population is evidence that
most farmers and ranchers
support the goals and philosophy
of Farm Bureau."
October 31, the end of the TFB
fiscal year, was deadline for
the 290 organized counties in
Texas to send in memberships
to the state office in Waco. Final
tabulation was slowed by the
last-minute inftux of member-
ships, Little explained.
While finat figures are not
available from across the na-
tion, the gain in Texas this year
will place the TFB among the
four or five largest state Farm
Bureaus in the nation, the or-
ganization director said.
The Texas Farm Bureau har,
shown an increase of 29.918
members in the past ten years.

The "fellow you loved to hate"
now joins the ranks of many old-

have never managed to keep up
with the current swinging times.
Peter Pain's long time sponsor,
Leeming/Pacquin, has now devel-
oped a new form of Ben-Gay, the
first lotion that relieves muscular
aches and pains. The firm an-
nounced that the veteran cartoon
character will not be used to pro-
mote the new product and has been
withdrawn from the comics.
