Altho'. it is but a few days since I wrote home, I can-

not forbare taking my pen to scrybble a few lines to My 3;
Dear rapa, knowing what pleasure it affords him to hear
of the health and wellfare of his amely, who offers up
her thanks each Morning, and evening to our heavenly fa-

ther, for blessing her with so kind and indulgent a raiment,
1 shall constantly offer up my prayrs that he may enjoy
his health and that we may all meet, and be blessed with
the sweet enjoyment of home, and friends;
Hermitage, i wrote My Dear papa the week
after I came to the Hermitage, and have been waiting with
great impatience to hear from him ever since, I am afraid
that you have never received my letter owing to the ir-
regularity of the mails, but I hppe My Dear Papa will not
wait for me to write, for he cannot but know that, I am
ever anxious to hear from my friends, who are never ab-
sent from my thoughts,-- i received a letter from Mama,
informing me of her safe arrival at Philadelphia, you can
have no idear how she has improved boath in looks, and
health, and is grown very fleshy, I expect in the spring

she will be a second M. Bates, in size. I expect My
Dear rapa wishes to hear how I spend my time, and I will
endeavour to tell him; we rise with the sun; offer up
our prayrs, to our heavenly father; and wiii end read
our Bible, and prepare for family devotion than, we go
