2^3 E) Capt James Bryan Sir agreeably to your proposition made me to Join you t in the Purchase of New Madrid Claims for the purpose of Se- cureing lands on the Water^oi' the Ouachita and Red rivers I will engage on my Part to furnish two thousand Dollars (and if in my Power three thousand) to be paid to you at New Madrid against the 15^ of May next, or between that time and the 1—^ of June next I am willing to be my third Part in the case of Eleven thousand Dollars worth of the Claims at Seven Dollars per arpen also will pay my Equal proportion of 611 necessary expences attending the Purchaseing of those Claims and all other expences that may occur in the comple- tion of the title etc that is one equal third of the said above mentioned Expences, and if you can Procure those Claims at a sum not to Exceed five Dollars per arpen I will Engage to pay in one third part of the Purchases to the amount of Eighteen thousand Dollars worth three thousand to be paid be- fore the first of next August and the balance of three thous- and Dollars in one year from t is date the entrys and surveys to be made as you proposed to me and the titles furnished in your name, Stepehn Austins name and th ^ Quchita Port 12— March 1819 Ste^^^n Ruddell Wilson
