the office fees, and two dollars for the stamp paper mak-
ing the sum of forty seven dollars on each league, which
sum is to be advanced as above stated and paid over
to said Austin at the signing of this agreement.
The thirty dollars before stated that has to be paid
to the govt, will be paid by said Smith or by the family,
who procures the land, yf under the provisions prescribed
by the Colonisation law, as to said payment, and the balance
of forty dollars which will be due to said Austin, and the
five dollars that will be due to the office, and the bal-
ance that will be due on the surveying shall be paid on
receipt of title by each of said families for the prompt
payment of which said James I? Smith hereby enters himself
as security—It is further understood that the term of four-
teen months counting from the first day of march next shall
be allowed for each of said families to remove to this
colony with their whole white family to settle perma*ent-
ly on the lands before mentioned and should said families
so remove within said term, the deed before mention^ which
will be executed by the Govt Commissioner in conformity
with the Colonization law in the same manner as to other
settlers, and which is to be deposited with said Austin
as before mentioned will be delivered to each of the fxm-
ilies who so emigrate and settle within said term, and it
is expressly understood that should said families or any
of then fall to emigrate and actually be in this colony
within the said term of four$y%/\een months from the
first of march next then the said deeds, or grants are to
be destroyed and to be null and void and the lands will
become vacant and subject tc be granted to any other per-
