Novel Shower
Suggested For
Spring Bride
Springtime is showertime — foe
the new crop of brides. All the
old shower - styles go by the
board. Aluminum is on priori-
ties ™. so out goes the kitchen
shower. Rubber is on priorities—
so out goes the bathroom shower.
Wool is on priorities — so out
joes the blanket shower. What's
left? A DEFENSE STAMP
STAMP shower — money I or the
, bride and groom to put into a DE-
FENSE BOND .to cash, with
interest, on that -tenth anniver-
sary celebration. Yes — it's a
'tin' anniversary — and those
hands will assure 'tin' of being off
the priority list by tlfeh.

HQJJSmG APPROVED
Erection of 100 demountable
housing units at Mineral Wells,
Texas, has been authorized. These J
units are included in a total of
42,000 for the entire country, for
construction of which $153,000,000
recently was allocated by Presi-
dent Roosevelt.
Designed for rapid erection and
ready removal to qther locations
when necessary, demountable
housing is considered by experts
the best answer to acute housing
shortages in defense communities,
where the population is expected
to decline in the post r war peri-
od and where too much perma-
nent construction might result in
ghost - towns after the war.

Dear People of Orange:
We know that there aren't any
tires and that we must take care
of the tires we have. Our roota
decided to pick up all the nails
and sharp glass we could find. Our
motto is "We Help by Picking Up
Nails. — |
We signed pledges and made
ourselves badges. We have pick-
ed up a large fishbowl full of
nails from the streets of Orange.
We also have some dangerous
pieces of glass.
Will you help your country by
promising yourself that you will
pick up every nail you see that
might hurt a bicycle or car tire?
