Dear Colleagues
We are glad to announce that final arrangements for our headquarters for our Annual
Meeting June 9, 10, 11 have been completed through the excellent management of our
local committee. The PALACE HOTEL has been chosen as our headquarters. In view of
a probable hotel shortage in San Francisco, all reservations for hotel accommodations
are being handled through the one main office, conducted by Dr. Frederick C.Warnshuis,
Chairman of the Housing Committee of the A.M.A., 450 Sutter Street, San Francisco,
California. In making your reservations, please write direct to Dr. Warnshuis and
be sure to state that you are attending the meeting of our Society and that you desire
particularly to be assigned to the Palace Hotel. Give as near as possible the prob-
able date of your arrival and departure, the type of room, and rate desired.
The following are the prices quoted by the Hotel to date:
Single rooms with bath $3.50 $4.00 $5.00 $6.00
Room with double bed - 2 persons $5.00 $6.00
Room with twin beds $6.00 $7.00 $8.00 $10.00
Suites Parlor, Bedroom, and Bath $12.00 $15.00 $25.00
The Seminar Committee also is glad to announce that final arrangements for the study
seminar have been completed. The subject for study this year is "Pathology of the
Skin," under the able leadership of Dr. Lee McCarthy of Washington, D. C., twho will
be in charge of chosing and preparing the material in cooperation with Colonel J. E.
Ash. The Committee also wishes to announce a new policy instituted this year, which
permits Fellows who are unable to attend our meeting in San Francisco to take part
in this educational activity by registering as if they were going to attend the
meeting and thus receive the slides and the record, which includes not only the
histories of the cases, but later a summary of the discussion of each case together
with the opinion of the referee. In view of the fact that some of the material used
for these serial sections is limited and it may be impossible to fill all the sets
completely, sets will be allocated according to the date of registration. There-
fore, if you wish to participate in the seminar, please send your registration card
at once and be assured of a complete set. Think of it -- for $7.50 you have avail-
able twenty-five slides from probably as many unusual cases to keep and use as future
reference. What an opportunity! No registrations will be accepted after March 15th.
In the past the Program Committee has had a great deal of difficulty in choosing
papers for the annual program, because many of the papers are submitted too late.
Therefore, if you have a paper that you wish to present at our next annual meeting,
please send in the title at once, if you have not already done so, in order that
the Program Committee will have an opportunity to evaluate the paper offered. Papers
to be considered for the program should be in the hands of the Secretary by March
15th. The title of your paper can be added to the enclosed self-addressed stamped
postal card.
Dr. Maynard is very desirous to obtain some accurate data on the type of work and
activities of each individual member and we are enclosing a self-addressed stamped
card, which I am sure he will appreciate if you will take the time to answer the few
questions asked and mail to us.
