Special Program at tire Library
Come to the County-Citv Library at 10
a.m. on Thursday, July 22, for a special pro-
gram calledTrains, Planes and Automobiles
presented by the MerryMakers Too. There
will be puppets, magic and stories. Call

Blood Donations
Meek Blood Center will bring both
bloodmobiles to Sweetwater on Thursday,
July 22, from noon until 6 p.m. One
bloodmobile will be in the Nolan County
Courthouse parking lot and the other will
be at the Lion's Club at 1501 Lamar. All
blood types are urgently need to ensure an
adequate supply for the summer months.
Friday, July 23
SNAP Ice Cream Social
SNAP will have an Ice Cream Social
and music starting at 10 a.m. on Friday,
July 23. Music will be provided by Gary
Gibson, Clay Jacohson and Clint Bohall
and family. They will be performing from
10 a.m. until noon. There will be ice cream
served right after lunch.
Saturday, July 24
Blackwell Riding Club
Blackwell Riding Club will have a play
day beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July
24, 2010, at the Blackwell roping arena.
There will be chute dogging, goat tying,
barrels, pole bending, straight-away bar-
rels, flags and an eight and under ribbon
race. The cost is $5 per event and ribbons
will be awarded. Concessions will be avail-

Benefit Rummage Sale
The Nolan-Divide Community Center
will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to
4 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the
community center. Doors will not open
early. Everything will behalf price after 2
p.m. There will be clothing, accessories,
appliances, home decor items, furniture,
32 pairs of Wrangler jeans of various
sizes, air purifiers, a microwave oven, a
leather chair, a love seat and much more.
All proceeds will benefit the Nolan-Divide
Community Center.
Monday, July 26
Tenaska Open House
Sweetwater area residents are invited
to an open house on Monday, July 26, to
hear updates on the development of the
Trailblazer Energy Center. Residents can
meet one-on-one with Tenaska represen-
tatives to ask questions and hear reports
on the plant's progress. The open house
will be from 6:30-9 p.m. in the new gym-
nasium at Sweetwater Middle School, 305
Lamar Street.
Tuesday, July 27
Mustang Golf Camp
There will be another Mustang Golf
Camp held Tuesday, July 27 through
Thursday, July 29, this summer from
9-11:30 a.m. each day. The camp will
be held at Sweetwater Country Club and
taught by former Mustang golfers Sarah
Cumbie and Ashley Timm. Call 338-5407

Coliseum Board
The Nolan County Coliseum Board will
have a general board meeting at 5:30
p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, in the
Coliseum's old kitchen.
Saturday, July 31
Benefit Team Roping
There will be a Benefit Team Roping
event for Terry Lane at the Nolan County
Coliseum Covered Arena on Saturday, July
31. There will also be a silent auction and
50/50 drawing and concession. All pro-
ceeds will benefit Terry and Saundra Lane.

Sunday, Aug. 1
Spies Reunion
The 55th annual reunion of the descen-
dants of August Spies will be held on
Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010. at the American
Legion Hall in Hallettsville, Texas.
Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish
with lunch being served at 12:30 p.m.
Plates, utensils, cups and tea will be pro-
vided. Door prizes are welcome. For fur-

Jump Rope Camp
Jump Rope Camp will be Aug. 2-4 for
students that have completed first through

Volleyball Camp
Volleyball camp will take place on
Monday, Aug. 2, at the Sweetwater Middle
School gym, located at 305 Lamar Street.
Camp hours will be 9-11:30 a.m. Monday
through Friday for students in sixth and
seventh grades and from 1-3:30 p.m.
Monday through Thursday for students
in fourth and fifth grades. Camp fee is
$30 and includes a T-shirt. A concession
stand will be open for snacks and drinks.

SNAP Garage Sale Donations
Friday, Aug. 6
Donations are needed to ensure that
SNAP can have a successful garage sale.

Nolan Baptist Church
Nolan Baptist Church will celebrate its
120th anniversary beginning with a prayer

Diabetes Walk
The Walk for Diabetes will be held
Saturday, Sept. 25 at Hutchinson School
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sign up will be
on Thursday, Sept. 23, at Fuller Foods
in Colorado City Donations of $7.50 are
needed. This will be the first Diabetes
Walk for Colorado City supported by the
American Diabetes Association, Jimmy
Huff Ministries, Fuller Foods, Colorado
Record and KVMC Radio. All donations
will go to the Diabetes Association.

Benefit Garage Sale
The 4th and Pine Church of God is plan-
ning a benefit garage sale for Russell and
Barbara Moore. Barbara has leukemia
and has been in M.D. Anderson Hospital
in Houston since March 2010 and will
be there for several more months. She
is waiting for a stem cell replacement.

Line Dancing
Beginner line dance classes with Kathy
Arrant will be held at the Elks Lodge in
Sweetwater every Wednesday night from
7-8:30 p.m., beginning Wednesday, July
21. Cost for each class is $6 with a portion
of the proceeds going to help support the
Elks Lodge programs. Come early for the
Elks' special hamburger night and have a
bite before class. Line dancing is a great
way to get some exercise while having
fun and meeting new people. For more

Sports Physical Packet
All students intending to play high
school football, volleyball or tennis must
have their physical packet completed and
returned prior to the first day of work-
outs. Students planning to play in any
UIL athletic program at any time during
the school year must have their physical
packet completed and returned before
participating in any practice, games,
matches or events (both in season and
out of season).
All varsity and junior varsity football
athletes should report to the high school
fieldhouse to begin workouts on Monday,
Aug. 2 at 7:30 a.m. Freshmen athletes are
to report at the same time on Monday,
Aug. 2.
