The Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital
Diabetes Outreach Program will have
a support group meeting at 2 p.m. on
Tuesday, Sept. 7, in the ER Classroom
(outpatient entrance) on Jenny George
Lane. Everyone is welcome. Information
on diabetes and snacks will be provided.
Wednesday, Sept. 8
NRCS
The Sweetwater Natural Resources
Conservation Service (NRCS) will be
hosting a local work group meeting to
discuss the natural resource needs in
Nolan County for the 2011 EQIP signup.
The meeting will be held at 10 a.m.
on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at the
Maryneal Community Center.
Adult Literacy/ESL
The Adult Literacy/ESL class will
meet at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
Instructors will help you learn to read,
improve your reading skills, improve
your English skills or help you read to

Story Hour
Story Hour at the County-City Library
for parents and their children, babies to
preschool age, will be held at 10:45 a.m.
on Thursday, Sept. 9. Library staff will
lead the parents and children in stories

Home School Story Hour
Home School Story Hour will be held
from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10,

Saturday, Sept. 11
Ladies Golf Clinic
Those wanting to learn more about the
game of golf may take part in a wom-
en's only golf clinic, instructed by Kelly
Rainbolt. The clinics will be held from
8:30-11:10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11 and
Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Sweetwater
Country Club. The cost is $50 per per-
son, for one clinic or $75 for both clin-
ics. Those attending must pre-register by
calling Rainbolt by the Friday before each
Saturday clinic at 325-320-5895.
Sunday, Sept. 12
Parents Seminar
Trinity Baptist Church, located at the
corner of Hailey and Santa Fe Streets,
will host a real world parents seminar on
Sunday, Sept. 12, beginning at 5 p.m. at
the church. The three-hour seminar will
present parents of all-aged children with
the tools to help live out faith that allows
children to see what it means to live as
a Christian. The seminar is open to the
public. Pre-registration is preferred and a
nursery is provided. Call the church office
at 235-2991 to sign up for the seminar
and let them know if you will need a nurs-
ery for your babies.
DivorceCare at Trinity Baptist
DivorceCare is a friendly, caring group
of people who will walk alongside you
through one of life's most difficult expe-
riences. Don't go through separation or
divorce alone. DivorceCare seminars and
support groups are led by people who
understand what you are going through
and want to help. You'll gain access to
valuable DivorceCare resources to help
you deal with the pain of the past and look
forward to rebuilding your life. There are
thousands of DivorceCare divorce recov-
ery support groups meeting throughout
the US, Canada and in other countries
around the world. Locally, DivorceCare
will be offered at Trinity Baptist Church
beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept.
12. This 13-week group study is avail-
able for couples in crisis and on-going
support and encouragement for those
healing from divorce. Pre-registration is
preferred, but not required. You may call
the church office at 235-2991 to regis-
ter or obtain more information. Trinity
Baptist is located at the corner of Hailey
and Santa Fe Streets in Sweetw ater.
Tuesday, Sept. 14
Beef Seminar
A beef seminar has been set for 5:30-
7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010,
at Roby CISD Cafeteria. Super will be
served. Cost will be $5 RSVP by Friday,
Sept. 10, or $10 at the door. Proceeds go
to benefit 4-H. Guest speaker will be Ted
McCollum, Texas AgriLife Extension-
Beef Specialist of Amarillo, Texas. Topics
will include how to determine stock rates
based of range condition, cattle adapting
to their environment and cattle market
outlook.
Thursday, Sept. 16
Free Cholesterol Screening
Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital will
sponsor a free cholesterol screening from
8:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16,
2010, at the Sweetwater-Nolan County
Health Department, located at 301 E.
12th Street. Cholesterol can play a critical
role in a person's health. It's important
that all people know what their choles-
terol level is and how it affects their risk
of developing heart disease. People also
need to learn about all the risk factors
for heart disease. September is National
Cholesterol Education Month.
Friday, Sept. 17
SNAP Garage Sale
SNAP will have their annual benefit
garage sale beginning Friday, Sept. 17,
from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will continue
on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 8 a.m. to 2
p.m. All proceed will benefit the Senior
Nutrition Activities Program (SNAP)
Meals on Wheels program and other
SNAP activities.

The Sweetwater High School Class of

Saturday, Sept. 25
SHS Reunion of the Century
On Saturday, Sept. 25, starting at 1 p.m.
there will be a Sweetwater High School
Reunion for all students that have ever
attended SHS. The reunion will be at the
Sweetwater Lake camp grounds behind
the dam. The cost is $25 tor the meal and
dance or if you would like to bring your
own food, the cost is $10 for the dance. All
must be paid in advance, by Wednesday,
Sept. 15. Payment may be to sent Jeanne

out, the charge is $10 per night. For more

SHS Class of 1990
The SHS Class of 1990 will have their
20-year reunion at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday,
Sept. 25, at the Elks Lodge in Sweetwater.
Tickets are $25 per person. Tickets must
be purchased by Monday, Sept. 20. 2010.

Diabetes Walk
The Walk for Diabetes will be held
Saturday, Sept. 25 at Hutchinson School
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sign up will be
on Thursday. Sept. 23, at Fuller Foods
in Colorado City. Donations of $7.50 are
needed. This will be the first Diabetes
Walk for Colorado City supported by the
American Diabetes Association, Jimmy
Huff Ministries, Fuller Foods, Colorado
Record and KVMC Radio. All donations
will go to the Diabetes Association.
Tuesday, Oct. 26
REHAB Shrimp Peel and Auction
REHAB will have their Shrimp Peel
and Auction from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday,
Oct. 26 at the Nolan County Annex. All
proceeds will benefit the West Texas
Rehabilitation Center. Shrimp Peel tick-
ets are $25 each. Sponsorships are also
available; Gold - $500 with eight dinners
and Silver - $250 with four dinners. For

Low Income Tax Clinic
The Texas Tech School of Law oper-
ates a Low-Income Tax Clinic to provide
assistance relating to issues involving
controversies with the Internal Revenue
Service to low-income taxpayers and to
individuals for whom English is a sec-
ond language. Law students, under the
supervision of a law professor, handle
a wide range of issues such as inno-
cent spouse, offers in compromise, fed-
eral tax levies, payment agreements and
representation before the United States
