Wednesday, June i
Roseoe Brown Bag
Roscoe will have their Brown Bag pickup
from 3:30-5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1,
2011, at First United Methodist Church in
Roscoe.
Sweetwater Youth Football
Sweetwater Youth Football League will
be hosting returning football player sign-
ups at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1 and
Friday, June 3, at the Sweetwater Lions
Club building on Lamar Street. Cost is $100
for tackle an $60 for flag. A $20 credit will
be issued for players returning equipment
at or before registration. Team capacity
will be 24 players for tackle and 14 for flag.
Players assigned by date and time of signup.
A payment plan with $50 down per player is
available and scholarships are available.
Thursday, J une 2
Story Hour
Story Hour at the County-City Library
for parents and their children will be held
at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, Library
staff will lead the parents and children in
stories and songs. Call 235-4978 for more
information or go to www.sweetwaterli-
brary.org.
Saturday, June 4
Blue Agave Chili Cook-Off
The second annual Blue Agave Chili Cook-
Off will be held on Saturday, June 4, in
Blackwell at the AMA/TechTel Pavilion. The
chili cook-off is CASI sanctioned, qualifying
teams for the Terlingua International Chili
Cook-Off. Additional cooking competitions
include pinto beans alapeno poppers, bris-
ket and ribs. Pour-off competitions include
Bloody Marys and Margaritas. Prizes will be
awarded for each winning event. There will
be a live band from Austin, "The Duqaines."
Concession will be available. For entry
forms, call 325-668-3552 or 325-370-1119.
All proceeds go to the Blackwell Riding
Club, a community service organization.
Roscoe Little League
The Roscoe Little League will have clos-
ing ceremonies on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at
George Parks Field. Presentation of trophies
will begin at 10 a.m. followed by head to
head games. The concession will be open. A
drawing for a $200 gift card from Fuller
Foods will also be held that day. Anyone
interested in purchasing a chance can buy
one from any Roscoe Little League player.
Sunday, June 5
Home and Outdoor Living Tour
The Sweetwater Woman's Forum will
host the first Home and Outdoor Living
Area Tour from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 5.
Four outdoor living areas on Vista Court will
be featured including the home of Marty
and Lori Foust at 3 Vista Court, the home
of Jerry and Linda Reves at 7 Vista Court,
the home of B.J. and Wendy Smartt at 9
Vista Court and the home of Scott and Carla
Morgan at 12 Vista Court, as well as the
home of C.D. Boyd at 1600 Morris, which
will be the only home interior featured on
the tour. Free bottled water will be distrib-
uted on-site. Tickets are $10 each and can
be purchased at the Sweetwater Chamber
of Commerce, Bennett and Associates, on-
site at the tour and from Woman's Forum
members.
Monday, June 6
Lady Mustang Basketball Camp
Lady Mustang Basketball Camp will
be held from 9-11:30 a.m. each day from
Monday, June 6, to Thursday, June 9, 2011,
at the Sweetwater Middle School Gym,
located at 305 Lamar Street. Camp fee is
$35 and girls will be able to improve their
skills in lasketball through instruction in
individual skills and team competitions.
The camp is for grades first through seventh
based on the 2010-2011 school year. Pre-
registration is appreciated and a concession
stand will be available.
Mustang Basketball Camp
The 2011 Mustang Basketball Camp will
be held Monday through Thursday, June
6-9, at Sweetwater High School with two
sessions. Students completing grades 3-5
will attend from 9-11 a.m. each day, while
students who are completing grades 6-8 will
attend from 1-3 p.m. A camp fee is $30, and
campers must sign a release form and show
proof of insurance. All participants in the
camp will receive a T-shirt and basketball.
Water will be provided, but each camper
may bring a sports drink if they choose to
do so.
Summer School Registration
Sweetwater High School will have regis-
tration for summer school on Monday, June
6 and Tuesday, June 7 from 9 a.m. until
noon in the high school counseling office.
Any high school student who failed a core
course i$ required to attend summer school
to make up lost credits.
Tuesday, June 7
Mini Mustang Cheer Camp
Cancelled
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the
Mini Mustang Cheer Camp scheduled for
Tuesday, June 7 through Friday, June 10
has been cancelled. Though the camp has
been called off this year, the annual sum-
mer event is set to take place next summer.
For those who had previously signed up
and paid the $35 for the cheer camp, please
contact the Sweetwater High School (SHS)
office at 325-235-4371 for refunds.
Baby Sitter's Safety Course
Texas State Technical College will have
a baby sitter's safety course for students
ages 12-16 who care for children from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011,
at The Center at TSTC. The cost is $75 and
includes the class, lunch and a first aid
kit, a baby sitter's guide and an American
Heart Association's CPR/First Aid Course
Completion Certificate. Those attending will
learn American Heart Association CPR/
First Aid, tornado safety, personal safety,
fire safety and preparing nutritious and fan

Chamber Luncheon
The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce
will have their annual appreciation lun-
cheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday,
June 10, 2011, at The Center at Texas State
Technical College. There is no charge for
chamber members. RSVP by June 2, to
235-5488.
Softball Tournament
The Sweetwater Slow-Pitch Softball
Association will be hosting a men's and
co-ed softball tournament on Friday, June
10 and Saturday, June 11. They will also be
starting a summer league on Monday, June
20. All are invited to participate. For more
