Fires continue in Nolan County
On Thursday morning, Sweetwater firefighters responded to a fire at the cotton compress on Alabama
Avenue. Several cotton bales were on fire and the blaze is still under investigation according to Sweetwater
Fire Chief Grant Madden.

of the fire that burned one acre of land is under investigation according to Sweetwater Fire Chief Grant
Madden.

Ribbon cutting held for Nolan Nursing and Rehab

A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house was held at Nolan Nursing and Rehabilitation at their new location on the east end of Sweetwater
by the Texas Department of Transportation office off of Interstate 20. The new facility is licensed for 96 residents. Among the four wings,
there are six private rooms and the rest are semi-private rooms. Each wing dead-ends into a sitting area, which has telephones, plasma televi-
sions and couches. Each room has a bed, a chair and a wardrobe closet.
