Community Calendar
Monday, Sept. 5
City Closings
The City of Sweetwater business offices
will be closed 011 Monday, Sept. 5, 2011,
for Labor Day. There will be no residential
refuse collection on that day. The commer-
cial refuse will be collected as scheduled.
The citizen's drop-off center and Type IV
landfill will also be closed on Monday,
Sept. 5, an d will resume regularly sched-
uled hours on Tuesday.
Big Country Dance
The Big Country Dance will be held
from 7:30-10:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept.
5, 2011, at the Nolan County Coliseum
Annex. Admission is $5 and entertainment
will be provided by Muddy Creek.
Tuesday, Sept. 6
Diabetes Outreach
The Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital
Diabetes Outreach program will have
a support group meeting at 2 p.m. on
Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, in the emergency
room classroom. Everyone is welcome to
attend.
Let's Talk Books
Let's Talk Books, the book club of the
County-City Library, will meet Tuesday,
Sept. 6 at noon in the meeting room. The
book selection is The Heretic's Daughter by
Kathleen Kent. Sack lunches will be pro-
vided for the first 12 people for a $4 dona-

Adult Literacy/ESL
The Adult Literacy/ESL class will not
meet on Wednesday, Sept. 7. Classes will

Roscoe Brown Bag
The Methodist Church in Roscoe will be
having a Brown Bag pickup on Wednesday,
Sept. 7 from 3:30-5 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 8
Story Hour
Story Hour for parents and their children
will take place at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday,
Sept. 8, at the County-City Library. Library
staff will lead the parents and children in
stories and songs. Call 235-4978 for more

Sunday, Sept. 11
Revival
Lamar Street Baptist Church will be
holding a revival starting Sunday, Sept.
11, 2011 through Wednesday, Sept. 14 with
evangelist Tom McCollister and musi-
cian Jerry Lewis. Sunday's service times
will be 10:40 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday-
Wednesday services also start at 7 p.m.
Lunch meals will be provided Monday
through Wednesday at noon with Mexican
(Monday), Italian (Tuesday), and favorite
casseroles (Wednesday). The church is
located at 513 Lamar in Sweetwater.
Thursday, Sept. 15
Free Cholesterol Screening
As part of National Cholesterol
Education Month in September, Rolling
Plains Memorial Hospital will host a free
cholesterol screening from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
on Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Sweetwater-
Nolan County Health Department, located
at 301 E. 12th Street.
