Sweetwater got a split
against Levelland in its two
JV football games played
Thursday at the Bowl.
The JV White team is at
Early this Thursday, while
the Red team plays Wall.

Sweetwater White (2-1)
scored all of its points in the
first half for a 34-0 lead in
beating Levelland.
T.C. Huitt had touchdown
runs of 7, 8 and 56 yards.
The other touchdowns came
on Xavier Jones' 24-yard
run and on a 17-yard pass
from Kaegan Jeffrey to
Dante Williams. Jeffrey also
completed conversion pas-
ses worth two points to both

for a loss in the third quar-
ter. "The kids played hard
and we were in the game 'til
the very end," said Sweet-
water coach A1 Hunt.

Shelton
HIGHLAND - The High-
land Hornets got their first
win under new head coach
Jeff Shelton on Friday by
beating Novice 70-52.
Steven Tester led High-
land, rushing for 239 yards
on 23 carries and four TD
and also recording seven
tackles on defense as well
as the Hornets' only inter-
ception and fumble recov-
ery of the contest.
With the win, Highland
improves to 1-2 this sea-
son. Novice (0-2) outgained
Highland 438-357 but the
Hornets never trailed as
they led 24-13, 40-27 and
56-45 at the breaks. More
game information will ap-
pear in a later story.
Unbeaten Bulldogs deeat Roscoe
STAMFORD — Roscoe
tried to slow down a good
Stamford team on Friday,
but the unbeaten Bulldogs
would not be denied as
they got their third win in
as many games, 58-7.
Stamford had 464 yards
to Roscoe's 265 and scored
in all four quarters. Roscoe
(0-3) got scoring runs of
55 and 77 yards by Eduar-
do Gallegos, who had a big
night offensively with 153
yards on just eight carries
and scored his last TD with
seven minutes left. Eric
Padilla ran for 60 yards
and Dillon Freeman 36
for the Plowboys, who had
another respectable night
running the ball with 254
yards on 41 attempts.

Roscoe didn't attempt a
pass against Hawley last
week, but Freeman threw
five against the Bulldogs
and completed three with
Padilla catching two balls
and Keeston Ford one.

Stamford quarterback
Bo Wimberly not only ran
for 84 yards and a pair of
touchdowns but also had
a huge night throwing the
ball, going io-of-13 for 204
yards and four TDs.
Stamford led 19-0 before
Roscoe scored, and was up
38-7 by halftime.
The Bulldogs continued
to pour it on with 13 points
in the third period and got
their last TD with 8:21 left.
Wimberly's four touch-
down passes all came in
the first two periods of the
contest and all four of them
went to wide receiver Jesse
Ramos, who finished the
night with a whopping 162
yards on just six catches.
The leading defenders
for Roscoe, which will now
travel to Merkel for its next
game this Friday, were
Landon Jones with eight
tackles, Matthew Cuellar
with six tackles and Luke
Rovig with four tackles.

Sweetwater's freshman
and junior varsity volley-
ball teams were taken to
three sets this past Tuesday
before each came away with
victories over Lamesa.
Sweetwater's JV volley-
ball team lost its first set
22-25 before winning the
next two by scores of 25-16
and 25-18, while the fresh-
men also lost their first set
21-25 before coming back to
win the next two by scores
of 26-24 and 25-16.
No individual results were
available for the JV team at
press time.
The freshman squad,
which is now 13-2 overall,
got outstanding efforts from
several individuals.

attacks against Lamesa
while Caroline Brennan
had five, Kala Wofford four,
