at the pace he set Saturday. "Sutty"
made many gains and put over the
on!y Owl touchdown.
Line Men "Strut Their Stuff."
Smith and WiHis did some good
kicking. Kendrick and HetHn tooked
good at center. Campbeii and Hate at
the wing positions "strutted their
stuff". CampbeH is good at getting
down the fietd under punts, white
Hale shows unusual ability at the
tackling game.
Roy Chambers is making a good
pilot. His work at quarter last Sat-
urday showed real football knowledge.
Several Owls impressed the specta-
tors last Saturday with their display
of Hght. Chief among these were
"Nigga" Lawrence, Camille Ulrich
and "Hap" Klotz.
Old Man Hard Luck.
Old man Hard Luck has already
started tampering with coach At-
buckle's gang, and it is to be hoped
that he doesn't go too far. In ad-
dition to Wilford's injury the squad
is feeling the absence of Big Bill
Simpson, who is out with a broken
shoulder. There also are several
minor injuries.
It was^earned with much regret
that "Nigga" Lawrence, veteran Owl
guard, will be out for the remainder
of the season, due to the death of his
mother. Nigga has been a consis-
tent ptugger for the Owls and his loss
wiil be keenly felt.
Oklahoma Aggies Next.
The men leave for Little Rock, Ar-
kansas, today at noon. They wil]
meet the Razorbacks at the Arkansas
State Fair in that city. Arbuckle has
given the gridsters some new ptays
which will be used against the Ar-
kansas aggregation. The men are in
tip-top shape.
The Owls will next be seen in action
at home on October 20th, when they
meet the eleven from Oklahoma A.
& M., in one of the hardest games of
the year.

Beaumont Today
Rice Held i* being wed a plenty
theee day*.
Three games were piayed on the
Owl gridiron last Saturday. This
week two more games wiii be seen on
the Held, in spite of the fact that the
varsity is up in Arkansas having it
out with the Raaorbacks.
Today at 8:30, an important Inter-
scholastic League game wiM be piayed
when Centra! High of Houston meets
Beaumont High on Bice Heid. Both
high schools are always strong con-
tenders for the state titie.
Last Saturday Houston saw Cen-
tra! High defeat St. Mary's Seminary
of La Porte by a iarge score. The
Centra! gridsters displayed a good
brand of footbaii and ran away with
the La Porte team from the start.
Tomorrow the Siimes wili piay the
eleven from Heights High Schooi of
Houston—another interesting scrap.

TJWERY payday your money has to stand
trial. You are judge and jury. Don't
be soft hearted toward those delinquent
dollars, but sentence them to hard labor for
you in the bank; turn them into diligent
dollars that earn you Four Percent.
The more you sentence to hard labor, the
sooner will your own burden of work be
eased. Harden your heart towards your
money. Keep your fair share to toil for
