Courtney Taylor, president of the
Girla' Tennis Club, urged all the mem-
bers at the meeting Tuesday to play
their first matches in the singles tour-
nament by next Tuesday. She also
stated that all those who wish to enter
the doubles tournament should sign
their names on the bulletin board or

yard dash Brunson has entered Cald-
well, Cogdell, and Neece.
Both of the Rice relay teams have
turned in some fine time, but they will
be competing with the best teams in
the country tomorrow. Several of the
berl schools in the Middlewest, such as
the University of Chicago and Nebras-
ka. have sent teams to the meet. 'Tex-
as University has two of the finest re-
lay teams in the country. The meet
record is expected to lie lowered in
the sprint relay and possibly in the
mile relay.
Ye aspirants for the ping-pong
championship, which, as you know if
you have been reading this stuff, has
been runuing for several weeks, can
go home and cool their heels. Mr.
Hermance got disgusted and threw the
schedule in the good old waste-bas-
ket.
He called it quits and said that all
of you who want to play ping-pong
can go ahead and play ping-pong, but
he isn't going to bother about it.
Hpndball novice and handball de-
partment doubles have also reached

the stagnation point. NotWng has hap-
pened in either for a couple of weeks.
For all we know, both of the tourna-
ments might Mow the path of the
ping-pong schedule if you buzzards
don't show some action.
Last week when the Tuesday fresh-
mani intramural teams won two out of
three of the tournaments, they com-
pleted a long string of pretty consist-
ent victories over the Monday teams.
Back in touch football, that game
where I slap you and you slap me,
the Tuesday bunch was way out in
front, winning both first and second
places, / ■ "I:." ai • |
In basketball the same thing hap-
pened. Tuesday 9 won the champion-
ship and Tuesday 11 came in second.
Volleyball was the Monday meat,
however. They took first in the re-
cent tournament. The Monday 9 hand-
ball team also got a second place, but
only because they got into the finals
on a default.

you ever
notice the difference
in the aroma of
Chesterfield tobacco?
Every person who knows about
tobacco will understand this...
for to get a pleasing aroma is
just like getting a pleasing taste
from fruit. '
Mild ripe tobaccos, home-
grown, and welded with the right
kind of tobacco from far-off
Greece and Turkey (Samsoun,
Smyrna, Xanthi and Cavalla)...
... thiif's why Chesterfield
has a more pleasing aroma.
