Francis Lederer, European star, and Ann
Sothern, The stars are backed by a sup-
porting cast headed by Fred Stone, Billie
Burke, Ernest Cossart, and Gram JilitlS
:chell.' "
Lederer, in the story, is a foreign
count who marries a wealthy American
girl, and comes to America dclermiiu'cl
to swap a title as long as His arm (or
the nickname "Spike."
Lederer finds Arizona, his bride'
home, to his liking, and is pleased with
the West. He wants to settle down and
become a cowboy and a rancher.'
Ann Sothern, his wife, is led by Iht
socially-ambitious mother into making
capital-of Lederer's social prestige. She
forgets Iter Arizona bnekiiroiiml, ami
insists upon keeping her .husband in
braid aii'd medals. The romance almost
bits the rocks before the two are re-
united.
As a special added feature, the
Weaver Brothers and Elviry will again
return to the Houston public, this time
on the Majestic stage, starting Friday.
METROPOLITAN
At the Met Friday is Olivia de
Haviland and Errol Flynu in a Holly-
wood version of history.
Warner Brothers have dressed up
Tennyson's '"Charge of the Light
Brigade" with a romantic anftle, or
tangle. Thrown in is an Indian massa-
cre and other details of interest.
Errol i'lynn and Olivia de Haviland
are co-starred, with Tatrie Knowlcs
heading the supporting cast.
Despite its lack of historical and fac-
tual veracity—or because of it—"The
Charge of the Light Brigade" makes in-
teresting entertainment.

for another week. This show, because
of its savoire fairc attitude of I'owell
that is always so enjoyable, contrasted
with tlie two-list edne<s of Spencer

storm, as it is usually termed. At am
rate Loow's finds it profitable and the
patrons find it convenient that "Libeled

KIRBY
Jean Arthur and Joel McCrea are co-
starred in Adventure in Manhattan, at
the Kirby beginning Saturday. Joel and
Jean play the parts of two lovers gallop-
ing through Manhattan at a mad pace
after a notorious thief. The inevitable
jewel robbery starts things off.
MeCrea is a young reporter who
guesses the identity of the thief, who is
believed to be dead. The robber, who is
not dead, gets slightly annoyed when
McCrea does such a good job of guess-
ing the right answer, and gets Jean
Arthur, to whom he is a producer, to
debunk the reporter.
Two more robberies, of a priceless
painting and a famous diamond, take
place before the final discovery of the
criminal, and before the usual discovery
of young love in its first blushing
blooming.
