Leisure Time Better

!>o you spend most of your leisure
time in listening lo the radio, reading
newspapers, attending movies, and play-
ing bridge? If so, you have fallen into
the typical American rut of leisure time
activity. , iv :■;; /vv
This conclusion was reached by Dr.
Paul A. Witty, professor of education
at Northwestern University, as the re-
sult of an eight year survey.
These four activities, along with
motoring and attending parties, are the
favorite pastimes of adult America.
Children, says Dr; Witty, spend far
more time participating in active games
than adults. Thti amount of time de-
Voted to sports diminishes speedily as
the child grows older.
The honor society in education,
Kappa Delta Pi, oilers its third re-
search reward of $1000 for the docu-
ment discussing any significant phase
of the history of American education.
Manuscripts must be submitted not
later than September 1, 1939. Indi-
viduals interested write for informa-
tion to E. I. F. Williams, Heidelburir
College.
Three students who were last year
leaders of the left-wing undergraduate
groups have been barred from enroll-
ment in the University of Michigan
