Editor the Thresher:
I After reading the very pertinent re-
marks in this column of Miss or Mr
Maylie West (1 assume the title should
be Mr. because of the individual's fa-
miliarity with the dormitories) demand
ilig to know why West Hall is West
when it isn't any further West than one
or more uf a couple of other halls, 1
find myself embolden to ask your opin
ion on a current American expression
which seems to me to contain somewhat
incongruous parts.
I want to appeal to your judgment as
a musician Perhaps you can explain this
matter to my satisfaction. First of all,
I, may S<W 'that 1, cap understand why
anyone should want to rumba. Secondly.
I mav add that it is perfectly clear to
nte why people should want ,kl rumba
down in Cuba. But thirdly, not one iota
of Comprehension penetrates to mind
wiled I hear the clause "rumba on a
tuba down in i uba." Where did lln tuba

But further consideration in the light
of your progressive attitude leads me to
propose three alternative solutions, any
of which I believe you will find satis-
factory.
1. Get a stenographer. Hook one but-
ton to a high C bitsHter, to indicate tliat
you want the stenographer with a glass
of water and a pill. Hook the second
button to a middle c # buzzer to indi-
cate that you want the stenographer with
notebook and pencil. Hook the third hut-
ton to some low tone buzzer to indicate
that you want the stenographer.
2. Get two stenographers; hook one
button to the desk of each stenographer,
and hook the third button to your elec-
tric toaster., d -
3. Get three stenographers.
We will be glad to recommend to you
an excellent employment agency.
