7-0. The Methodists are doped to win
this time over a much weaker Cen-
tenary team.
The Baylor Bears have a Friday go-
round with the O. C. U. Goldbugs In
Oklahoma City. The Bears ran riot
against the same opponents last year
to the tune of 48-0. Baylor is picked
to win again but by a much smaller
score.
REVIVED RICE M.S.U.
INVITES STUDENTS
TO CHURCH BANQUET
The revived Methodist Student ph-
ion of Rice had its first meeting of
the yenr Mondny. Plans were dis-
cussed for a banquet to be held for
the organization Wednesday at the
First Methodist Church.
Tiie time is 6:30. and all students
are invited to attend the affair; The
Union is particularly interested in
welcoming all the students who are
Methodists whether they are mem-
bers of a local church or not.
There will be no charge for the moal
or the promised good entertainment)
afterward. It will be necessary, how-
ever, to make reservations before Mon-
day afternoon with Mary Bethany at
the organization's headquarters on the
second floor of the Autry House.
The following officers were elected:
Anne Hueter, president! John Barker,
vice-president; Bonnie Delle McBride,
secretary; and Lester LaGrange, pub-
licity chairman. Mary Bethany is the
official secretary of the organization.
MACE BLOWS—
(Continued from Page 1)
made early for a reason which Billy
Reed won't let us tell. These girls were
smart enough to pay $1.75 to have their
pictures made, and then they started
all over by going down to the studio
and trying to have their pictures made
without their receipts. This sort of
stuff may not amount to much as a
purely academic question, but practi-
cally it's not much better than taking a
stitch in time and then nine anyway."
Mace wants all freshmen and others
to understand that they can have their
pictures made now whether they paid
for them on registration day or not.
Anybody can go to the studio, pay the
$1.75 there, and have his picture
taken.
The pictures that have been taken so
fai' have been excellent, Mace claimed
'yesterday (and today, etc.), and every
effort even to the Cveriest has been, is
be . . . etc. to make the book a monu-
ment to. Six hundred seventy-five
pictures have already been sold, a
i.umber which is within 75 of the all-
time record of 750 set last year
The book will be enlarged in every
department, particularly sports and
superparticularly freshman sports. The
theme will lie- Rice Institute of ilhe fu-
ture, wit^i the division passes showing
perspective drawings of the new build -
iligs which will be placed on the cam-
pus before the plans for the Institute
are completed.
