An entertaining lecture on the de-
velopment of oil trunsportution was
given to the Aiuericun Society at
Mechanical Engineers student branch
Wednesday morning by Mr. L. F.
Scherer. Mr. Scherer, chief engineer
of the Texas Pipe Line Co., showed:
many interesting slides depicting
modern methods of oil trunsportution,
and his talk was followed by a lively

Two representatives were sent to
the best news story of the
Week. ,
Cf* After all the,- least you ■ could do
was to tell the students who the new
girl cheerleaders are, Surely there
is no iiueKtion as to our having them,
US after; all, over ,a thousand students
signed petition circulated by
Newsome, and it is u thoroughly
democratic school.
Also since the loudspeaker system
at the football games this year will
probably spout war news, it will lie
quite a diversion to look onto the
football field and feast our eyes on a
few shapely shapes. There ain't noth-
ing more relaxing ami diverting to
the mind.
Sd be more careful next time and
lot the students know Who their new

Vote oil them or what.
Yours for a song,
Pete Burns.
